"That the President of the United States feels confident in taking so much highly visible relaxation time seems, in my eyes, almost ostentatiously haughty and aloof--but perhaps that's the idea? From the White House Dossier:
After an hour of hiking, President Obama Monday got down to the serious business at hand, heading out to golf for the second day in his first three days of vacation. He was back on the course at Marine Corps Base Hawaii.
With this one, Obama reaches a new milestone, having gone golfing 90 times in less than three years as president. That's about threee months of golf, given that the excursions generally take about five hours - much of the useful portion of the day."
Now, I like golf. I really like golf. I suck at it, but still really like it (kinda like Obama and his presidency... but I digress). But I guarantee you I haven't played 90 times in the last three years. For one, I do have other things to do and also, I can't afford to play that much golf.
But good for the President. I'm glad he can get away from the stress of his job an unwind on the golf course. In fact, I wish he could get away more often. I'd suggest a round, no, two rounds of golf each day for the next year. That would give him less time to screw things up in the office.
